Identify the point of interest
For a Lee CCTV enquiry, describe whether you need to see a caller, review movement beside the property or observe an agreed business entrance. The point where useful detail is needed matters more than a broad promise to cover the building. Explain that purpose before deciding on a camera quantity.
If there is shared access, identify its boundaries and the person responsible for it. A view serving one household should be considered carefully where other residents use the same path. Refer to the relevant ICO guidance for the proposed coverage and operation.
Include the normal scene
Tell us about doors, vehicles or planting that may obstruct the view. Explain the lighting after dark and any difficulty experienced with current footage. If the issue is a camera looking through glass or facing a bright entrance, describe it so the position and specification can be assessed together.
Agree cable routes and recording-equipment locations with any relevant property restrictions in mind. Mention planned decoration or works that could affect access. Retaining existing cameras should depend on suitability and compatibility, not simply their presence.
Make viewing straightforward
Choose who administers the system and who needs access on a phone or other device. Ask what is included in setup, what depends on the internet connection and whether an ongoing charge applies. At handover, practise searching for an event and exporting a clip. Confirm the recording arrangement meets the purpose of the installation rather than checking only that a live image appears.
