Describe who is home and when
For an alarm at a Lee property, explain whether one person may be working or sleeping while other rooms are unused. An installation should be discussed around that normal pattern, not only the situation where everyone leaves together. Tell us about pets and the entrance most frequently used.
If the property includes shared space, make clear which rooms and doors belong to your own accommodation. A common entrance and a private flat door should not be confused when defining the alarm boundary.
Reassess after changes
A home office, extension or new access route can alter what you need from an existing alarm. Give the team a brief description of the change and any equipment information you have. Ask whether the present layout remains suitable before deciding which components to replace.
If decoration or refurbishment is planned, explain the timing. Cable routes and access may be easier to assess before finishes are completed. Any relevant owner or heritage restrictions should be included before external equipment positions are settled.
Decide how the system will be managed
Discuss who can operate the controls and what should happen after an activation. Monitoring is a separate service decision with its own scope and potential ongoing charges. Provide written insurer requirements where relevant. During handover, practise the setting combinations and entrance routine you actually intend to use. Ask how maintenance is arranged and how user access can be reviewed when circumstances change, rather than leaving those questions until support is needed.
