Establish the limits of your premises
For a Bermondsey enquiry, begin by distinguishing your own unit from communal entrances, shared circulation space and the external building. A tenant may control an office interior while a landlord controls the entrance and walls outside it. A homeowner in a managed building may face a similar distinction. Tell us whose permission is needed and which areas the proposed work should cover.
Southwark Council lists conservation areas including Bermondsey Street. If your address falls within a designated area or the building is listed, check the relevant restrictions before agreeing external equipment. The installation brief should reflect confirmed information about the address, not assumptions about the wider district.
Select the service by its purpose
If you need to control visitors at a common entrance, start with door entry or access control. If you need to detect entry into your own premises outside working hours, an intruder alarm is a separate requirement. Cameras can provide selected views and recordings, but they do not replace decisions about who is allowed inside.
For a business with contractors, cleaners or multiple occupiers, explain the different access times. If the enquiry covers several units, identify whether each has separate decision-making and whether one person can coordinate the project.
Make the quotation achievable
Mention working-hour restrictions, loading arrangements and access to service spaces. Provide any relevant building-management requirements before the survey so the proposed route and equipment locations can be discussed realistically. C&C can assess an existing system or discuss a new installation. Use the Bermondsey alarm and CCTV pages for more detail, then request a free quotation for the defined premises and services.
