Separate the entrance from the wider scene
When requesting CCTV for Bexleyheath premises, describe the purpose of each view. A shop entrance may need to show who came in, while a wider internal view helps explain movement through the space. At home, the same distinction applies between a person at the door and general activity on an approach. One camera position may not serve both purposes equally well.
Tell us whether the scene changes during the day. A display, parked vehicle or open shutter can affect a view that looks clear when the property is closed. Include those conditions in the discussion before camera locations are fixed.
Plan who uses the recordings
For a business, decide whether playback belongs to the owner, a manager or another authorised person. Staff who need a live view do not necessarily need full control of recordings and accounts. Agree those responsibilities before setting up access on individual phones.
For a home, identify who will maintain the account if a device is replaced or household circumstances change. Ask what the system records locally and what remote access depends on. The quotation should state any continuing charge for the chosen arrangement.
Check the useful result at handover
Ask to see playback from an agreed camera and practise finding a particular time. Discuss the proposed recording duration rather than assuming every system keeps footage for the same period. If you already have CCTV, explain whether the difficulty is poor coverage, unclear pictures or retrieving clips. Those are different problems and should lead to an assessed recommendation, not an automatic increase in camera count.
